COMMENTS BY DONNA GARNER: As a classroom teacher for 33+ years, I know that there are only two philosophies of education. They cannot be mixed any more than oil and water can be mixed. Either there are fact-based, right-or-wrong answers in curriculum (and also in life) or there are not. Subjectivity, emotions, opinions, beliefs, and relativism instead of an emphasis on traditional, academic, fact-based curriculum have opened the door for Obama’s Common Core Type #2 social justice, LGBTQ, and the Critical Race Theory to sweep into almost every school in America, Pre-K through Grade 16.
Below is the chart that illustrates what Type #1 and Type #2 look like in the classroom, in instructional materials, and in digitized curriculum. It is important that the public educate themselves on what each type looks like so that they can protect their children from Type #2 indoctrination.

The Texas Alternative Document (TAD) is the only K-12 English / Language Arts / Reading (ELAR) curriculum standards document ever written before or since July 1997 by current classroom teachers. When it was to be offered free to the state of Texas at the Texas State Board Education meeting by Donna Garner in July of 1997, Texas Education Commissioner Mike Moses denied her that opportunity.
In May 26, 2008, Donna Garner revised the TAD and renamed it the “English Success Standards.” This document is free for the taking, and she nor her group of classroom teachers have ever claimed any copyright nor attribution privileges.
